How to Get to Rhino
Yes! We have plenty of climbs that are suitable for beginners of any fitness level. If you are able to climb up and down a ladder, you will likely be able to get up a climb! Our staff are always available to answer any questions and provide tips to help you feel more confident on the climbing wall.
Bouldering does come with risks. We require that climbers be able to take a fall onto thick matting. Prior to climbing, you will have a safety briefing to prepare you with the skills to keep yourself safe.
It’s optional! if you prefer to have an instructor to get you going you can do so by booking one of our get started sessions or join a pre-organized group lesson with your support organization
Everyone wishing to climb or supervise must follow our standard registration process which includes watching our induction video and filling a registration form. It’s quick and easy to do so and you can pre-register online to save time when you arrive or do it at Rhino. Climb & Connect users will also be requested to fill in a short additional questionnaire to help us understandthe impact Climb & Connect is having on the wellbeing of its users.
Only climbing shoes, if you don’t have your own don’t worry we have them available for hire when checking in. These will help improve your climbing performance and make your experience more enjoyable.
Anything comfortable that allows you to move freely. Dresses, skirts and flip flops are not recommended! 🙂
Absolutely! Everyone at Rhino was a first timer at some point, and we’re always excited to welcome new climbers. Our space is designed to be beginner-friendly, and our community is genuinely supportive—no pressure, no judgment. Whether you’re figuring it out or just here to have a go, you’ll fit right in. And if you need help, our team’s always around.
Not at all. Many people climb solo and love it—it’s their time to focus, unwind, and move mindfully. But if you’re keen to meet others, Rhino’s the perfect place. Your support organization may be arranging groups sessions, and if not our community is friendly and open, and we run regular Adult Social and Women’s+ Social nights designed for exactly that. Whether you want company or quiet, you’ll feel right at home.
If you’re keen to avoid the busier periods, we recommend visiting on weekday mornings or early afternoons—especially before 4pm. Weekends and evenings tend to be more popular, but there’s always space to find your own pace. And if you’ve got any questions while you’re here, our staff are always happy to help.
No! We also have a warming café where you can sit comfortably and enjoy snacks & drinks when you are not climbing! You are also welcome to bring your laptop and do any work in there as we have a fully setup CoWorking space with meeting rooms and phone booths! We have an equipped gym and offer training workshops too.
